Chrysantha Mendis is by profession a medical doctor who was born on 19 April 1956. Specialized in Anaesthesiology, he is currently (2023) holding the position of Clinical Director of the Heart Centre in a leading private sector Health Care facility in Sri Lanka. He qualified as a MBBS doctor in Sri Lanka and completed his Post Graduate education in the UK obtaining his FRCA (U.K) and FFARCSI (Irl). In the year 1994 he returned to his motherland to serve its people. He is very much an outdoor person who is interested in ecosystems, wildlife, bird watching, and angling. He is also an ardent animal lover.
